The CTFA was invited to present at a DEA workshop towards the latter part of 2016. The workshop focused on Waste (Microplastics) Management locally. The CTFA advised of industry alignment to EU with regards to discontinuation of non-biodegradable, Polyethylene Microbeads by 2020.
The DEA recently queried industry status with regards to the Microbead discontinuation. In order to proactively manage this matter and provide tangible figures to DEA – kindly submit details (current status, quantity of microbead use and discontinuation deadline) to the CTFA on the completion or planned completion of Microbeads discontinuation from products.
Please note that similar adhoc requests will be sent out to members for the purposes of collating and submitting industry status updates to DEA.
