Policy Regulatory Communique 03-2024

Dear CTFA member
Please find this week’s communique for information and consideration.

Exporters to the European Union (EU) or to Other Countries via the EU

EU Import Control System

The EU will be making changes to the entry procedure of goods from 3 June 2024. Safety and security data requirements are already in force for the transportation of goods by air. With the third phase of the EU’s customs pre-arrival safety and security system – Import Control System 2 (ICS2) – safety and security data reporting requirements will be extended to other modes of transportation. In certain circumstances, final consignees established in the EU will also have to submit ENS data to ICS2. The amendment to ICS2 will take place gradually, depending on the transport mode, from 3 June 2024 to 1 September 2025.

Major Hazard Installations

Is your facility associated with a low, medium or high hazard and applicable to the Regulations?

The revised requirements of the Department of Employment and Labours’ Major Hazard Installation Regulations came into effect in 2023. The Regulations reflect substantive changes that broaden their scope – which activities need to be considered and compliance requirements. Should you require further information or be interested in attending a free of charge event taking place on 15 February 2024, please let the CTFA know.
